Hacienda dos Hermanos use Paso Fino horses, a special breed of gaited light horse, originally imported to Puerto Rico from Spain as racehorses. They have a docile temperament, trained by voice, and are perfect for all abilities.
The guide Rafael Torres takes great pride in his horses and allocating the correct rider to each, so will initially make an assessment of your horse riding experience. Even the most experienced rider may not be used to speaking to the horse rather than kicking it! The length and route of the tour is also adapted depending on the individual riders, these vary between an hour and several hours in length.
Some routes take in the woodland, where guests are invited to look at the fauna and flora whilst Torres explains each of them. As well as woodland, there are also sections on open dirt roads, which means confident riders have a chance to pick up speed. The horses even contend with rivers and are happy to swim with riders on their back. Every tour is videoed for the guests to take home the experience.
