Restaurant Don Tello
Puertorico
During his lifetime he dedicated himself to his family, music and food. He had thirteen children whom have continued to run the restaurant after his death. The restaurant was named after him, although his real passion in life was the cuatro a tiny guitar (with four strings), which he mastered rather than food alone.
The eatery is located opposite the ferry terminal, surrounded by palm trees and sunshine and has a large terrace for guests to enjoy their food. It specialises in traditional Puerto Rican cuisine, of which Don Tello and his wife Dona Luisa were big eaters. Indeed the food is so special that it is the reason that many visitors come to Catano town. Puerto Rican locals take their food seriously and this restaurant is no exception.
The food is obviously inspired by traditional Spanish dishes, mixed with a Caribbean twist. Popular plates include the paella and grilled fish, with sides of fried plantain, pasteillos croquettas and queso frito (fried cheese).. They also have a great selection of beef fillets on offer. At the bar, Don Tello has a whole range of delicious cocktails, including passion fruit rum and mojitos which are everywhere on the island.
