El Patio de Sam is located on the San Sebastian strip - full of bars and restaurants which range from boutique to local drinking holes.
El Patio de Sam is a great place to stop for lunch if you are taking the designated route between El Morro and El Castillo San Felipe. As a result of its position and notoriety in guidebooks it is usually busy and the menu is a little pricey, especially as the food is not the best in Old San Juan.
Inside the restaurant has a courtyard-style set-up with a glass roof so that the sun is able to brighten up the rustic feel.
Whilst the menu has American items wings and burgers as well as the usual Puerto Rican fare of rice, beans and tostones. On both accounts the food is good but not the best available in this area for the money.
