Boccado's Divino
Puertorico
A relatively new restaurant that first opened its doors in 2011 in an area of Santurce that has been vastly improved in recent times, but still has an untouched character that is off the beaten tourist path. The restaurant is a family run business that is especially welcoming to families. The cuisine is predominantly international, including Italian, and a gourmet breakfast that has a local influence in terms of flair and ingredients. The presentation of dishes is rustic, but the flavours and portion sizes undoubtedly make up for this with Chef Rafael Orbe’s passionate soul food; served by the charming and attentive waiting staff.
The speciality on the menu is the goat prepared in a red wine sauce, not to mention the fresh pasta dishes, and local seafood. For breakfast there is a wide selection of hearty sandwiches filled with items commonly associated with an English fry up. For something more traditional the spiced oxtail ragout is a great example of how cheap ingredients can taste fantastic, and their stuffed lobster is a pleasing visual full of flavour and earthy ingredients. During the week Boccado’s is busy with local businessmen which are always a great indicator that the quality of the food is superb.
