Puerto Rico Architecture Foundation
Offering unique architectural tours, educational camp, tourist attractions and wedding venue.
Those looking for educational and interesting things to do in Puerto Rico will enjoy the tours offered by the Puerto Rico Architecture Foundation.
Founded in 1993, PRArch is dedicated to foment general knowledge and appreciation of the role of architecture on our society. PRArch achieves this through our vast catalogue of publications, documentaries, courses, and educational tours aimed at the general public.
PRArch's programs teach the general public about the power architecture has to transform and improve lives, and the influence the places we live in, work in, and play in, have on us as a community. Through the different programs, educational resources, and collaborations, PRArch hopes to inspire children, youth and adults, to become reflexive commissaries committed to the built environment.
Projects and Programs
The Architectural Tours are tailored to meet the expectations of architecture, history, and all-around-knowledge enthusiasts from all over the world, under the guidance of trained tour specialists; comprised mostly of architects or landscape architects. The tours not only point out the amazing architecture Puerto Rico has to offer with its diversity of styles which have been evolving for over 500 years, but also urban and environmental aspects.
The Summer Architecture Camp builds on the natural curiosity of children to inform them in a creative, fun, and spontaneous way about architecture, landscape architecture, urbanism, and the environment. The summer camp exposes children and youth to architecture and related professions, and makes them aware of the relevance these professions have on the built environment that surrounds them.
Through our Publications & Collaborations program, especially through our popular monograph series on the work of celebrated local architects, PRArch aims to educate the public about diverse issues related to architecture, landscape architecture, Caribbean history, and sustainable design. Through this program, PRArch, not only generates a diverse body of work about architecture, but also supports, promotes, divulges, and collaborates with other entities to carry out, workshops, courses, conferences, documentaries, and other architectural tours.
