Description

This guided tour combines hiking, natural waterslides, cliff jumps, rope swings, and cultural storytelling in El Yunque, the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System.

Your experience begins at your preferred location. Drive your own vehicle or select the optional round-trip shuttle with meeting points in San Juan (Plaza Loiza Cll. Corona), Carolina (Walgreens Ave. Fragoso), Luquillo (Walgreens), and Fajardo (Ralph’s Food Warehouse).

After arrival at El Yunque National Forest, you will receive a safety orientation and a life vest before entering the rainforest. Hiking scenic trails, your guide will share stories about Puerto Rican culture, Taíno legends, and the native flora and fauna that define this ecosystem.

About 25 minutes into the hike, you will reach a hidden natural pool surrounded by lush jungle. Here you can swing from ropes, jump from various rock heights, or relax in refreshing mountain water.

Continuing uphill, you will find a second, more secluded pool featuring natural volcanic rock waterslides where you can slide into crystal-clear water.

After both pools, the trail returns downhill to a resting area where you will enjoy complimentary healthy snacks before concluding your tour.

Guests selecting the San Juan or Carolina shuttle option will visit the Luquillo Kiosks after the rainforest tour. This oceanfront strip near Luquillo Beach offers a variety of local food kiosks serving authentic Puerto Rican cuisine, drinks, and seafood, providing a convenient spot to eat and unwind.
