Follaje
Puertorico
If you are looking for a quiet spot for some brunch, a mid-afternoon snack or a refreshing drink in San Juan then look no further than Follaje, located on the Calle Taft and Loiza crossroads. By paying special attention to presentation, use of natural ingredients (“follaje” translates as “foliage”) and more than generous portions, Follaje not only keep customers happy but also ensure that they will be back for more.
This quaint bistro serves food that is, in their words, a “Cuban-Puerto Rican fusion, with a Mediterranean touch”. This is certainly evident in the menu, with combinations such as crisp and energising lemonade with coconut milk, large healthy helpings of fruit, yoghurt and granola, a delicious eggs Benedict or Florentine omelette dish and ‘papas leonesas’ (a fantastic Mexican-style potato dish).
Aside from food and drinks, Follaje also host gallery exhibitions once a month and Jazz every Friday.
Price range: €7-25.
Food type: Mediterranean, Puerto Rican, International.
Opening times: Wed-Thur, 8.30am-6.30pm. Fri, 8.30am-9.30pm. Sat-Sun, 10.30am-6.30pm.
